Self-help resources, at times, offer nothing more than common-sense wisdom—things we might overlook until someone points them out. And then, self-help assumes we all know exactly what we want and what a perfect life looks like. It often takes for granted that it can effortlessly bridge the gap between our present reality and the ideal life we dream of.
