What is a Good Wonderlic Score for Different Professions?

December 25, 2021 By Nagesh Belludi Leave a Comment

While hunting for your dream job or college, you may be required to take a Wonderlic test that measures your IQ. Different professions use this score test to determine whether or not applicants deserve an advertised job.

What Exactly is a Wonderlic score?

The Wonderlic Test or the Wonderlic Cognitive Ability Test is an intelligence exam that employers give to assess potential employees’ critical thinking and problem-solving capacities. By determining potential employees’ critical thinking ability and intelligence during the recruitment process, employers can decide whether or not they are competent for the position at hand.

Also, higher education institutions like graduate schools use the Wonderlic test to measure the ability of students to learn and solve problems.

The test has 50 questions, and you get one point for every correct answer and zero points for unanswered questions. This means that the highest score one can get 50, while the lowest is 0. The test takes 12 minutes or less, and it gets more challenging as it progresses.

What is a Good Wonderlic Test Score?

Like other IQ tests, you can get a good, average, or worst score on your Wonderlic score, depending on your capacity. There is no fixed grading for the Wonderlic Test since each industry has its standard.

Scoring 45/50 in a Wonderlic Test shows that you are the right candidate for the job, while 20/50 is considered an average score. Scoring 10/20 is regarded as a poor score, meaning that you are not qualified for the advertised job, but you may be suitable for another position. However, a person that scores ten is considered illiterate.

As noted above, the average Wonderlic Test score is 20. However, the score quality can be likened to the job or position you seek.
