Physical Violence Signs

When someone is physically abused, you will see obvious signs. Keep in mind that there are the most common and warning signs. Black eyes, ripped lips, injured wrists and also bruises (especially on the arms and neck) are the most common. Domestic abuse in this form is bad, severe and you should help that person if you can. Each state has violence hotline that can be helpful. We must add that this is an interesting and common topic. Domestic violence is a severe problem and abused people are suffering as we speak. When abuse occurs once, it will happen again.

All of the family members and individuals who suffer domestic abuse will try to hide physical abuse signs we have just mentioned. They will wear long sleeves, turtlenecks, sunglasses and so much more. Children do this less often. Usually the abuser will force them to do that. These are common red flags. You should know that emotional resilience will change with years but these people are ”damaged by the abuser and they will be in pain. If you can help them, you should. An interesting fact here is that abused people will try to hide the injuries. Those who got them in a fight for instance will not. This is something you can use to see the traits better.

It is not uncommon that a person will avoid hanging out, going outside or just spending time with other people. After all, it is easier to hide the injuries at home than wearing long sleeves. This is bad but cna get even worse. In domestic abuse cases a victim usually cannot go freely where he or she wants. The abuser will not allow it.

Emotional Injuries and Damages

Controlling behavior in abusive relationships is common and this usually leads to emotional injuries. These are much harder to see than the first option we have covered. However, you need to look at some traits that can give you the answer. Victims will usually apologize all the time, even when they are not mistaken.

They will sleep too much or not sleep at all. Appetite is usually non existing! They will not have any motivation at all which is another huge issue for young people. In general, you can see that those individuals are scared or fear of something/someone all the time. This will probably be the first thing you can notice.

Sadly, things will get worse. These people, due to massive abuse that includes verbal abuse and emotional abuse will start thinking about suicide or even talk about it. Emotional abuse is extremely hard and support is needed. Some therapists claim that if a person talks about suicide all the time there is not real risk present. But if he says it occasionally, a huge risk is present. You may want to learn more about the risk of suicide in younger people to understand this topic more and completely. Mental health is affected by the long abuse and as such victims of domestic violence will rely on the escape. Suicide is the escape here!

If you believe a friend is abused you can look for additional clues. A person who suffers emotional abuse, physical, verbal or all of the above will slowly lose interest in daily activities. These people usually spend the entire day in a dark room and avoid any form of activity. This is an extreme case but common. National domestic guidance claims this is a huge problem in domestic violence and a lot of work is needed to correct the issue. Abuse includes breaking the spirit of a person and it does need time and effort to heal!

Always consider these people as victims because they are! Emotional abuse may sound less severe but it is not. Any form of this issue is a huge problem for the modern world, for families and especially for the victims. If nothing changes, the issues will become even bigger and more problematic.

The Final Word

Now you can realize if or when a person is in an abusive relationship or family. The best thing you can do is to find a way to help that person. There is a best way to do this for each case scenario and always the safest approach should be used. Keep in mind that a victim must be protected at all times and safe if you want to help him or her. That’s why you should talk to experts in your area to determine the best approach for that particular victim.
